MAGS TANEV

I am a Colombia-based freelance writer and journalist with a deep interest in sacred plant medicines and the indigenous traditions that carry them.

My mission is to provide engaging, original, and reliable information about the uses of sacred medicines and the traditions, lineages, and wisdom keepers behind them.

I believe that at this critical moment of the Psychedelic Renaissance, it is more important than ever before to ensure that indigenous wisdom keepers and those practicing shamanic traditions are heard, respected, and revered.

I strive to do this through investigative research and interviews with primarily South American wisdom keepers, which help me weave their stories into my work, ensuring their perspectives are platformed.

I am also dedicated to helping newcomers to the psychedelic space access trustworthy and accessible information that guides them on their path with the medicines. My work in this area involves creating content, as well as co-facilitating an integration circle, with the goal to provide a safe space for individuals to discuss experiences of non-ordinary states of consciousness and prepare for upcoming journeys.

I have a BA in History and Hispanic Studies and a Distinction-level MA in International Relations from the University of Nottingham, UK. In my spare time, I like (you guessed it) taking part in sacred medicine ceremonies, hiking in the mountains of Antioquia (where I live), and playing medicine music on the guitar.

I have published work on platforms such as EntheoNation, Chacruna, Microdose Psychedelic Insights, Healing Maps, and Psychable. I am open to freelance work including journalism, blog writing and editing, copywriting, and video projects.
